MAY 26: It’s a fact - beautiful real estate agents can sell their homes for as much as 2.3 percent higher and that could translate into hundreds of thousands of baht for the seller. However, does beauty trump strong sales skills and sound market knowledge?
Recent research from Australia’s University of New South Wales discovered just how far our behavioural biases reach in terms of buying. It examined the ‘standard deviation increase’ in real estate agents’ physical attractiveness, finding that for every step up the ladder of perceived beauty, the final selling price of a property reliably increased.

Bangkok's next hotspot may surprise you

MAY 26: Real state firm Plus Property has identified Phayathai and certain parts of Phaholyothin as the next big hotspot for the Bangkok residential property market. The company noted how the area in central Bangkok looks set to follow in the footsteps of the Phloenchit-Sukhumvit zone, with unit prices showing significant annual increases. Projects completed less than four years ago now command resale prices almost 80 percent higher than their original valuations, averaging THB150,000 per sqm.

Overseas interest is back - it's a fact

MAY 24: Thailand claimed an astonishing fourth place in a league table of most-searched overseas property destinations during April 2015 published by one of Europe’s top overseas property websites. Searches for Thailand property on TheMoveChannel.com recorded a 4.61 percent share of all searches on the website last month.

Bangkok resale buyers are cashing in

MAY 23: Property resale prices in some of Bangkok’s popular condominium developments have risen astronomically since their launches, according to data released by Aliwassa Panthnadabutr, Managing Director of CBRE Thailand (pictured left) ahead of its Elite Living event in Bangkok, which runs until May 31 at Bangkok's popular Siam Paragon shopping mall.

Record broken for Thai sales in HK

MAY 21: Thailand property developer Country Group Development’s (CGD) recent Hong Kong property exhibition showcasing its Four Seasons Bangkok at Chao Phraya River development (pictured) achieved sales of 52 units valued at more than THB700 million (US$21.2 million). This was the highest recorded by real estate firm CBRE at a single property road show for a Thailand luxury property development in Hong Kong.

Bangkok remains a "power city"

MAY 21: While Singapore has become Asia’s top ranked city across a broad range of indicators, Bangkok has climbed MORI’s Global Power City Index.
The capital of Thailand fails to make it into the top 15 cities globally according to a new report published by global real estate firm JLL in partnership with The Business of Cities Group. New York (pictured) was ranked top in this particular research.

12 quarters of profit for Raimon Land

MAY 18: Luxury listed property developer Raimon Land recorded its 12th straight quarters of profit late last week, announcing net profits of THB313 million for Q1 2015 in a statement to the Stock Exchange of Thailand. It also announced it would be launching at least two new projects during 2015.

Bangkok land prices to rise again

MAY 7: Bangkok land prices jumped by 3.5 percent last year, and will increase by a further 3 percent during 2015 according to research from Thailand’s Agency for Real Estate Affairs (AREA). Bangkok's highest land prices were seen at Siam Square, Chitlom and Ploenchit, at THB1.75 million per square wah (THB437,500 per sqm). Prices are expected to rise to up to THB2 million per square wah this year, according to the firm..
